What’s the First Step?

Dr. Jaiswal will meet with you in the pre-operative area. Together looking in the mirror, he will determine the optimal position of the brows. He will make markings. The procedure will be done under general or local anesthesia. Afterward, patients are sent home. Procedures typically take between 45-90 minutes.
Recovery typically takes 1-2 weeks. There is usually minimal pain but there may be some bruising and swelling of the temple region and around the eyes. Most patients go back to work in 1 week.

Is there a nonsurgical option to browlift?
Some patients may see a benefit with selectively placed neuromodulators such as Botox or Dysport. However, these are temporary and must be done by a skilled injector. Some providers will offer thread lifts to the brow region but Dr. Jaiswal does not recommend this.
How do I know if I need a brow lift or upper eyelid surgery?
Dr. Jaiswal will determine this during the consultation based on your anatomy. He will discuss your complaints, anatomy, and goals to determine if a brow lift and/or upper eyelid lift would be a better option.
How long does a brow lift take to perform?
45-90 minutes depending on the technique used.
What are the risks and complications with a Brow Lift?
There may be complications such as bleeding, prolonged bruising/swelling, overcorrection, under correction, asymmetry, or injury to a nerve branch. There is also the risk of some hair loss where the incision is made. Though complications such as these are rare and most patients do not experience any complications, it is still important to be aware of the risks prior to deciding if surgery is right for you.
